Louet Jane

Description

Jane was originally only an 8 shaft table loom, however in 2023, Louet introduced a 16 shaft version. Today, the loom is available as 8 or 16 shafts and the 8 shaft model is expandable to 16 shafts. The original 8 shaft only model remains available while supplies last.

Jane has been designed after consultation with weavers, at the same time using successful techniques from its predecessor, the Kombo. There is no cord wear, since cords run over rollers and the overhead beater stays out of the way when throwing the shuttle.

The large shed makes it easy to throw a boat shuttle or pass a flat shuttle. The overhead beater is designed for maximum weaving area, and even beat. The cords run entirely over rollers and wheels, so wear is minimal. Because the reed tray stays backwards, you have an optimal jump.

Louet Jane is the perfect table loom with manual control of the shafts. You control the shafts manually with toggles, thus having unlimited choice of shaft combinations.

You can fold the loom flat, with the warp on, and lock it in a folded position for easy transportation. With the Jane 40 and Jane 50, there is a handle on the side of the loom to make it easier to carry. The folded 8-shaft loom is about 14 cm (5.5”) high, while the folded 16-shaft loom is about 21 cm (8.27”) high.

Jane is made of lacquered beech and has a built in raddle.

The loom comes partially pre-assembled.
